Our Mission

At the Maryland Public Interest Law Project, Inc. (MPILP), our mission is to empower Maryland Carey law students to serve our most vulnerable communities by providing summer grants for unpaid public interest internships. We believe that everyone deserves access to justice, and we are committed to fostering Maryland's next generation of public interest attorneys. 2025 is our 37th year supporting University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law students.
